The Otterhound is a large, rough-coated hound with an imposing head. Originally breed for hunting, it has great strength and a strong body with long striding steps. This makes it able to perform prolonged hard work.They have extremely sensitive noses.

The Otterhound is very nice to children. It treats the family members very well and the other animals living in the house too. Usually other dog breed doesn't like cats but this dog is very friendly to cats and does not consider them as prey. However, they use to run after smaller creatures. This breed is very responsible and loyal.
